Positive Mental Health

A big thank you to all the staff and students who supported events in the school this year to Promote Positive Mental Health. Our regular efforts to support peoples Mental Health were supplemented with our Hike for Life, Positive Pumpkin Competition, our Positive Mental Health Week and our 1st year Wellbeing Walk. We have been successful again this year in obtaining our third Amber Flag which recognises the efforts made by whole school community in promoting Positive Mental Health and our fundraising for Pieta House who are managing the Amber flag process this year.

We would also like to highlight that Mental Health Ireland supports See Change’s Green Ribbon Campaign every May. The campaign promotes the Green Ribbon, which is now the international symbol for mental health awareness and promotes positive mental health.

Mental Health Ireland have partnered with SeeChange, the IFA and Coilte to GET WALKING, GET TALKING at the Talk & Walk events around Ireland.

The Let’s Talk and Walk events encourage people to take time out of their busy lives, go for a walk and support the campaign to change minds about mental health.

The nearest Let’s Talk and Walk is in:

·         Emo Forest, Co. Laois on Sunday, 13th May 2018 @ 3pm. Meet at Emo GAA/Community centre.

This May we would like to encourage all staff and students to take a few minutes out of your busy lives and walk the Positive Mental Health path at the back of the school with a friend or colleague.
