Rathangan U16s vs Granard

Rathangan came out strong in the first half but took a while to score. When the first score finally came it was from a free taken by Oran Donnelly. Granard quickly fired back with a free of their own. Granard came into the game want to play a physical brand of football but Rathangan were well able to match the level of physicality. Rathangans next score came from Eoghan Geoghan who scored a point from play. Rathangan dominated the first half with a lot of scoring including a 45 yard point from play by Oran Donnelly. Rathangan scored two goals in the first half one coming from Peter Byrne from a 45 and the other coming from play by Oran Donnelly. The first half ended with a phenomenal bottom corner save by Rathangans Alo Hackett. The score at the end of the half was: Rathangan 2-5 Granard 0-6
The second half started quite quickly with a goal from Oran Donnelly. Rathangan looked strong coming out of the break with quick scores coming from Peter Byrne and Tommy Dempsey. Towards the end of the second half Granard made a strong push for a comeback scoring two goals in quick succession but Rathangan fired back with a point from Peter Bennett.
