Garda Youth Awards
Kildare Youth Awards - 11/11/16
The inaugural Kildare Garda Division Youth awards will take place on 11th November 2016 in the panoramic restaurant at Punchestown Racecourse. This event, kindly sponsored by Newbridge Silverware, will celebrate the achievements of young people in County Kildare. The event will be hosted by Ms Anne Doyle, late of the RTE newsroom, and awards will be presented in nine separate categories including an overall winner, a group winner and a special achievement award for an individual who has overcome difficult circumstances or defied the odds and whose commitment deserves recognition.
The judging panel will include the Kildare all star footballer John (Johnny) Doyle and the chairman will be Mr Martin Kilduff of Newbridge Silverware. The official launch of the awards took place at 10 am on 7th September at the Newbridge Silverware Showrooms. Chief Superintendent Barry McPoilin, the Divisional Officer for Kildare said “ The Gardaí wish to recognise the efforts and sacrifices that young people make in efforts to improve the life of individuals or the community around them. It is important for the Gardaí to acknowledge the positive interactions that we have with young people and that it is not only an “enforcement of legislation” relationship that exists between us both. We are very grateful to Newbridge Silverware for their kind sponsorship which had afforded us the opportunity to present these awards for the first time in the Division and we are looking forward to the presentation evening at Punchestown on the 11th November 2016.”
There are application forms available from Mr Murphy and from the local Garda station.
